Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Shoebox Plus Organizer (the "Software"), a browser extension provided by Through The Trees Technology, a division of The Christmas Collective LLC ("we", "us", "our"). By installing, activating, or using the Software you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. License Grant

Upon successful payment of the one-time fee ($25 USD) through our payment processor, we grant you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on Chrome-based browsers you personally control, for your personal genealogy research. The license is tied to the email address used at checkout.

2. Restrictions

  • You may not resell, sublicense, rent, or distribute the Software.
  • You may not reverse-engineer the Software except as permitted by applicable law.
  • You may not use the Software to violate Ancestry's terms of use or any applicable law.

3. Updates

We provide updates to licensed users at no additional cost for the lifetime of the Software. We may modify or discontinue features at our discretion.

4. No Affiliation with Ancestry

Shoebox Plus Organizer is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ancestry.com Operations Inc. or any of its affiliates. "Ancestry" is a trademark of its respective owner.

5. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SOFTWARE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE. IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

8. Termination

We may terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms. You may stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling the extension.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for any dispute shall be the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
